AMD has its first line of 6-core processors coming soon and the new parts will land this month. If you like the idea of a 6-core processor, but you don’t want to spend the big money that Intel wants for its parts, AMD may be a great option.

The AMD Phenom II X6 10890T Black Edition processor is now available for pre-order on Amazon. This is the highest end of the processors in the AMD desktop line. The BE processors are multiplier unlocked for overclocking and more.

The CPU runs at 3.2GHz or 3.6GHz with Turbo Core on and uses socket AM3 board. The cache is 9MB and the CPU consumes 125W of power. You can pre-order for $324.65 right now and get free shipping. Amazon doesn’t list a specific ship date.
