The LG Ally is shaping up to be one of the sweetest smartphones on the market. Brighthand reports that this new mobile (which is being advertised in Iron Man 2) will run on the Android 2.1 OS. It packs a 3.2” screen and a fairly beefy processor.

We don't know exactly how fast the Ally's processor is, but the fact that it will be able to handle animated wallpapers points towards a 1 GHz Snapdragon or something close to it. The Ally will be capable of 3G wireless networking and will pack a microSD slot. It has a GPS receiver and a camera flash.

The Ally should hit on May 20th, but there has been no confirmation yet as to the carrier. Rumors point to Verizon Wireless, but no hard confirmation has yet arrived.
