Recent patents filed by Nintendo show that the company is likely to release a game called "3DSPlay" as well as a new digital download store for the upcoming device, 3DSWare.
Siliconera caught the trademarks on file at the US patent Web site, which come as no surprise but are good indicators of what's to come for the 3DS.
It also gives more credence to the idea that the 3DS will be the system's actual retail name instead of just a code or test name. Of course, a mini-game compilation is always expected on a Nintendo system and 3DSPlay may be one of the first such titles.
And 3DSWare could be exciting as the first digital download store exclusively for a 3D game system. It also, however, begs the question as to whether or not the DSiWare store and downloaded games will be transferable to the new handheld console.
Regardless, we'll know more answers for sure when Nintendo officially lifts the veil on the 3DS at next month's E3 event.
