Black and white screens are heading the way of the dodo. Color e-ink is still a bit off, but color e-readers are already launching. Gearlog reports that Pandigital has just launched the new Novel eReader. This gadget packs a 7” TFT LCD color touchscreen display.
It has access to Barnes & Noble's eBookstore and LendMe, the book “loaning” technology. The Novel has a resolution of 800x600 and packs in WiFi, an SD/MMC slot, and 1 GB of storage space. It has a mini-USB port and can read PDF, ePub and HTML. The Novel launches in June for $199.
