BP was right to not call the Top Kill procedure a success yet yesterday. As reported the oil stopped leaking for a couple of hours yesterday. If you go now to the Gulf Oil live stream you see the oil coming out of the ocean floor like before.
BP published a status update on their site.
Top Kill is still going on and BP will continue blowing mud into the leak (BP has halted it right now).
BP is also preparing another procedure in parallel called lower marine riser package (LMRP) cap containment system. Deployment would first involve removing the damaged riser from the top of the failed BOP to leave a cleanly-cut pipe at the top of the BOP's LMRP.
At least we know BP has more solutions in their arsenal to finally stop the oil from leaking.
