I remember when I first heard about Wireless USB, I was excited that I might be able to lose all those USB wires running across my desk. I pictured wireless printers and scanners but so far WUSB has failed to make a huge impact on the way most of us use our tech gear.

One of the only places you find WUSB today is in wireless docking station for notebooks. The latest WUSB docking station comes from G-Max and it uses an all in one design. It supports the connection of all manner of peripherals form printers to displays, projectors, keyboards, and speakers.

It supports a resolution of up to 2048 x 1152 over DVI and has a wireless range of up to 10 meters. The transmission speed is up to 480Mbps and it has a DisplayLink chipset for dual screen viewing and mirroring. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
