The HTC Evo has launched, and it is hot. Unfortunately, the prettiest new toys sometimes have the nastiest drawbacks. For the Evo, this has taken the form of a serious security vulnerability. Soft Sailor reports that the Evo 4G has several security flaws that can allow certain apps to pull private information out of your phone.

One way to remove this vulnerability is to root your HTC Evo. This seems like a daunting task to many, but the Unrevoked rooting application makes rooting your phone easy and safe. If you intend to root the Evo, be sure to avoid the OTA update Sprint sent out earlier today.
