After a flurry of hype from Valve's confirmation yesterday of an "E3 surprise, the man himself, Gabe Newell, has said that it will NOT be Half-Life 2: Episode 3.
Over the weekend, rumors began swirling around the Internets after Valve, a computer game publisher with a huge cult-like following, canceled an event that was to showcase Portal 2. Portal is one of its most critically-acclaimed titles.
Instead, the publisher said the event would be replaced with something else, but that details were still under wraps. That immediately led people to think that it would be a sequel to its other highly successful franchise, Half-Life 2.
While Valve definitely has something up its sleeve for E3, it won't be a new Half-Life and it won't be a new Portal. The mystery thickens...
