I love my DVR and of all the tech and gadgets I have in my home, it is one of the devices that I can’t live without. I use DirecTV satellite because my local cable company sucks. DirecTV has announced a new offering today that I am excited about called Whole Home DVR.

I have several TVs in my home and a couple DVRs. With Whole Home DVR, each of the DVRs you have on your system can play recorded program son any TV connected to the satellite network. The system supports up to 15 rooms.

If you have, one DV you can send recorded shows to any TV in the house and each TV can have its own parental settings and mange the recorded show list. If you have two DVRs, in your home you can record four shows at once and watch two recorded programs at once on separate sets around the home. The Whole Home DVR service is an extra $3 monthly and you have to have HD service for it to work with HD programs and a compatible DVR.
