I never thought I'd see the day. Gearlog reports that 2 TB hard drives have finally broken $100. This weekend NewEgg.com started to sell the Seagate LP ST32000542AS for $99.99 to their mailing list customers. This drive is 4900 rpm, 7200 RPM 2-TB drives will set you back $200-$300.
Expect the price of these drives to continue to trend downwards. 3 TB hard drives are expected to hit before the end of the year.
