The appeal of home automation is undeniable to anyone interested in technology and gadgets. Being able to control your thermostat, lights, sprinklers and all sort of other household items from one central location is very cool.

Touch Panel Control has announced that it has a new app available for the iPad and the iPhone on the App Store right now that turns both of the devices into full touch screen controllers for home automation systems.

The app lets the iPhone and iPad connect to AMX System platforms via 3G, GPRS, and EDGE networks or via WiFi when in the home. The 3G access means you could control your home automation system from anywhere you can get a phone signal. The app is available for a free 21-day trial on the App Store.
