We've been hearing rumors of an upcoming 8 GB iPhone 3GS for a while now. So far, none of them have been confirmed by Apple and the old 3G continues to sell. Today though, a German forum (via BGR) presents us with some real, physical evidence of the 8 GB 3GS's existence. An Apfeltalk user ordered a refurbished iPhone 3G. The device Apple shipped to him, however, came inside the box for an iPhone 3GS. The box label clearly stated that this was an 8 GB 3GS, despite the fact that such a product officially does not exist. The actual smartphone inside the box was an iPhone 3G.So what does this mean, exactly? Either Apple is about ready to start selling an 8 GB 3GS, or this is an incredibly coincidental typo. It's hard to say for sure what the truth of the matter is. If you've been considering buying a refurbished 3G though, you might be best served by waiting until February. If Apple does start selling the 3GS for $99, you're going to want some of that action.
