External hard drives are exponentially more awesome with the addition of Bluetooth 3.0. Take the Iomega eGo portable hard drive. SlashGear reports that this 500 GB USB 3.0 external HDD is in stores now. The eGo has software that automatically drops the drive when locked. User reports describe transfer speeds of 86.2 MB/sec.
Meanwhile, the Iomega Skin HDD just sports a USB 2.0 interface. It has the same drop guard protection, plus a cool patterned finish. It can store 500 GB. The eGo is currently selling for $129.99 while the Skin goes for $119. For ten bucks more, the eGo is the clear winner here.
