Opera says that the new version is much faster for loading web pages thanks to the fact that it compresses data up to 90% before sending the content to the phone. That means faster page loads and less money spent on data.
Opera claims that loading a page like BBC News is 9 times cheaper with Opera 5.1 than other browsers. The new version is also able to be set as the default browser on Android phones and is optimized for larger screens.
