Just as we reported would happen, the Samsung Captivate has launched on AT&T's network. This beastly mobile has a 4" Super AMOLED display, a 5 MP camera (auto-focus, smile detection & HD recording). It has 16 GB of internal storage and can accept up to a 32 GB microSD card.

Like all Galaxy S smartphones, the Captivate packs Android 2.1 and will soon get 2.2. You can order one now from AT&T's website. It'll set you back $199.99 with a 2-year contract or $499 to own up-front.

Update: The Captivate is on sale now on Amazon Wireless for $99.99 with new contract.
