Excitement builds around Microsoft's mobile OS reboot, Windows Phone 7, but not everyone is buying into the hype. Hewlett-Packard Executive VP Todd Bradley has just revealed that his company will have nothing to do with Redmond's latest attempt on the mobile market.
CNBC reports that Bradley stated his company would only use webOS for their smartphones. It isn't all bad news for Microsoft though; he did confirm that HP will be building a tablet based on WP7. Quite frankly, I'm not sure how ideal the tablet form-factor is for something like WP7. Battery life should be good, and there's no reason the UI wouldn't scale up well, but WP7 is so limited compared to something like Android or iOS4.
Of course, if WP7 ends up being as much of a failure as some reports say, we could see HP back out of this tablet promise the same way they backed out of their last slate.
