The BlackBerry Torch was announced minutes ago and now AT&T has put up a press release and set the whole thing down in writing. The Torch 9800 has a 3.2" capacitive touchscreen, 35 key sliding QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad, 624 Mhz processor and 512 MB of RAM. It has 4 GB of built-in storage.
You'll also be able to add in a microSD card that holds up to 32 GB. A 4 GB card is included, giving you 8 GB out-of-box. There's also a 5 MP camera with flash, auto focus, image stabilization, geo-tagging, zoom & scene modes. Add in 3G, a GPS, b/g/n WiFi, and BlackBerry 6 to complete one hell of an impressive package.
The Torch is RIM's most exciting phone in...well, possibly ever. BlackBerry 6 has been designed with a touchscreen device in mine. It focuses on social media, providing integrated access to Facebook, mySpace, Twitter and a variety of social feeds. The BlackBerry Torch will launch on August 12 for $199.99 with a 2-year agreement.
