It is about time. We reported earlier that the Xperia X10 was due to launch on AT&T's network. Now a press release from the carrier has made it official. This new smartphone will be available on August 15th. Astute readers may remember that it was almost a year ago that the first rumors of the X10, then called the Rachel, leaked out to the Internet.
The X10 sports a 4" display and a 1 GHz processor. It has an 8.1 MP camera, GPS, 8 GB of on-board memory and a 2 GB card. The camera has smile-detection, face recognition, autofocus and an LED flash. This Ericsson beauty will set you back $149.99 with a 2-year contract. That isn't a bad price but, honestly, you'd be better served with a more advanced Android device on a different carrier. If you are settled on AT&T though, this is a solid buy.
