The chargers both have dual USB ports with one 2.1A port for charging the iPad and an additional 1A port for charging the iPhone or other USB device. The chargers are very similar with a key difference being where they work.
The AC version is for use in your home and the DC version of the charger is for charging your device in the car. The home version will sell for $29.99 and the car version will cost $24.99.
