The rumors of Sony Ericsson building a Sony PSP gaming phones are years old. See this report from 2007. Engadget reports now what they believe is not a random rumor. Sony Ericsson is working on Android 3.0 PSP Go like mobile phone.
The new Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) gaming phone would come complete with an eco system for gaming. A release could even happen already this October. The Sony Ericsson PSP hen would sport a large screen and a slide-out game pad.
An Android 3.0 mobile gaming environment would allow Google and its Android partners effectively compete with Apple and their efforts of pushing gaming on the iPad, iPhone and iPod.
