Color E-Ink may be very close to a reality. Digitimes reports that Chinese vendor Hanvon is set to launch an e-reader with color E-Ink in Q4. It will have better response time and reflection than current E-Ink products. There's actually a picture of this e-reader in the flesh (albeit somewhat unfinished) and it looks quite impressive.
The company E Ink has also launched two new E-Ink touchscreens, one that is capacitive and another that is electromagnetic. These new screens should be out by the end of this year, or early 2011. This is sure to lead to some very interesting developments in the E-Reader / Tablet wars. Maybe the next Kindle will even have a shot at fighting the iPad...
