Verizon operates the FiOS network. FiOS customers also get TV programming via the FiOS network. Bloomberg reports that Verizon announced plans to let FiOS TV customers also watch TV on devices including the Apple iPad.
You would be able to watch TV while at home on your iPad. The programming would stream via Wi-Fi. Verizon also plans a service to be released in the Fall to let users access stored videos away from home on BlackBerry, Android, Windows and Apple iPhones. The iPad app for FiOS TV has no release date yet, but would come after the mobile access service.
An iPad FiOS TV app would be yet another reason to get FiOS. Only problem is that the broadband glass fiber service is not available everywhere.
