iOS 4.1 brings the Game Center

Apple is working on the next iOS release dubbed iOS 4.1. Developers already received the 3rd beta. AppleInsider takes a closer look on what iOS 4.1 will bring us. The biggest new feature is the Game Center. Game Center is the Xbox Live or Sony Playstation Network for the iPhone. Accounts in Game Center are created with your Apple id. After sign-up you can find friends to play with and track your achievements.

Another thing in iOS 4.1 will be the fix of the proximity sensor for the iPhone 4. There are several more smaller improvements coming as well in iOS 4.1.

It is possible that Apple is coordinating the launch of the new iPod touch 4 with the release of the iOS 4.1 in September.
