The next big tablet has been spotted-live and in the flesh, on a train in Sydney. Electronista managed to snap a video of a live testing unit being fidgeted with by a surprisingly forthcoming user. He said it was "awesome" and very different from the iPad.
The responsiveness of the UI hints at the same 1 GHz processor packed by the Galaxy S line of smartphones. That 7" screen looks a little smaller in human hands than I'd expected it to. The Tab is most definitely not a smartphone, but it doesn't pack quite the "wow" in its form-factor that the iPad has. I may end up wrong on this, but I think the 9.8-10.2" range is going to prove to be the sweet spot for slate-style gadgets.
