Well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. A gym in Florida has added Wii stations and Dance Dance Revolution set-ups to let kids play their way to a healthy start on life.
In addition to that, there are seven TV screens hooked up to recumbent bicycle controllers.
Child obesity is a huge epidemic in the US and it's good to see that someone is coming up with a creative way to get children to start keeping their adrenaline pumping.
The child area at the gym does also have traditional exercise equipment and strength training machines. I recall the days of being a pre-teen and going to the gym with my parents. It was really boring. It's cool to see this kind of implementation.
Of course, this still requires that their parents actually take the motivation themselves to join the gym in the first place, but at least it's a step toward embracing technology.
