I've been a little down on the Samsung Galaxy Tab lately. The main reason is the awkward size of its display. 7" is too small to be as comfortable as the iPad, but still too large to fit into most pockets. Samsung's insistence on this bizarre size has been baffling. Until now.
Ifanr (via BGR) has just posted up a few photos of the Tab, along with a new rumored set of specs. According to them, that 7" screen will be AMOLED or Super AMOLED. Either way, that is enough to make this tablet way more attractive than it was previously. The display size will be 1024x600 and the rear-facing camera will be 3.2 MP. The front-facing camera will be VGA. Otherwise, the Tab will be very similar to the Galaxy.
There's reason to doubt this; a 7" AMOLED display would be expensive to produce, even for Samsung. That might sabotage this tablet's ability to compete with the iPad for cost. At under $500, the Tab could be a viable competitor. Much more than that, and even AMOLED starts to lose its luster.
