Apple September 1 Event: 99c TV Show Rentals really coming?

Rumors of Apple announcing today 99c video rentals are getting more intense. The WSJ reports that their sources say that Apple reached a deal with Fox and ABC to rent TV shows for 99 Cents in iTunes.

What shows will actually qualify for the low price is still unclear. I am also not sure how dramatic this new offer is, especially when other TV stations are not on board like HBO, CBS and NBC.

We will see today what Apple is really announcing. And as reported earlier, Apple is streaming the event live starting at 10am PDT.
