iOS is flying high.

A few moments ago at Apple's big music event, Steve Jobs gave the hard numbers on the success of iOS. First, he announced that a total of 120 million iPhone OS devices have been activated since the launch of the original iPhone. Right now, iOS is seeing some 230,000 device activations per day, and that does not count incremental upgrades.

Steve added, "We think we're ahead of everybody." He then announced that over 6.5 billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store, for a total of 200 apps downloaded per second. Out of the 250,000 apps in the store, over 25,000 are iPad apps.
