The T-Mobile G2's 800 MHz processor sounds almost...anemic, when compared to today's 1 GHz processors and the imminent next-generation 1.2 GHz beasts heading down the line now. However, that number seems to be misleading. Android and Me has just posted up the benchmarks for the G2, which points towards it performing as well with graphics processing as a Galaxy S.

The G2 will be the first US Android phone with a 45nm 800 MHz MSM7230 processor from Qualcomm. This bad boy packs an Adreno 205 graphics processor which is as powerful as the PowerVR GPU that the Gal S makes such good use of. This allows the G2 to work in the same FPS neighborhood as the Captivate and the Droid X / 2.
