LaCie has been a name in the storage market for years and the company has unveiled a new storage product called the 2big USB 3.0. LaCie claims that the device is the first storage product with RAID to use USB 3.0 connectivity. The storage device comes in up to 4TB capacity.
The USB 3.0 connectivity promises up to 205MB/s of throughput. Inside the silver aluminum enclosure is a pair of 7200rpm hot swappable HDDS. The storage unit supports RAID 1 for protection of data or RAID 0 for users looking for higher performance.
The 2big USB 3.0 is offered in 2TB capacity for $349.99 and in 4Tb capacity for $579.99. When used in a USB 3.0 port the read speed is up to 190MB/s and the write speed is up to 160MB/s. the storage device measures 3.7" x 7.9" x 7.2" and weighs 7.9 pounds. You can order the drive right now.
