Android 2.2 Froyo now available for Droid X users.

Verizon has released the Android 2.2 update for Droid X users. You can update your Motorola Droid X over the air now with Froyo. The new features you will be able to enjoy on your Droid X update on the Droid X include Flash 10.1, faster browsing, easy switching between 8 recent apps, automatic app updates, screen rotating and more.

The exact version number of Android 2.2 for Droid X is Version.2.3.15.MB810.Verizon.en.US/BP _C _01.09.07P. Update instructions are available on the Droid X support page.

Android Community already published a performance test of Android 2.2 on Droid X with Quadrant. The results are that the Droid X runs "wicked fast" with Froyo.

The Droid X sells for $99.99 with new contract on Amazon.
