The LG U.S. national texting championship was won by 13 year old Brianna Hendrickson according to CNN. Brianna won $50,000. She will compete now in the LG Text For Good Challenge, where she can double here prize money and get another $50k for a charity. See also the LGTexter site.
Besides the Texting Championship LG also organizes the LG Mobile Worldcup 2010. The new world record for texting a message is held by Melissa Thompson using Swype on a Samsung Phone. She set that new record last month, which was held before by Franklin Page. She typed the text: "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human." in 25.94 seconds.
