Black Friday Laptop Deals Predictions for 2010

Buy Acer Aspire AS5251-1805 from Amazon Cyber Monday and Black Friday Now

Laptops will be again hot items in the Black Friday 2010 sales season. Today the bestselling laptops on Amazon and Best Buy are the ones with the lowest price. This means that the demand for low priced Windows 7 laptops is still high. Last year during Black Friday Walmart offered a $198 Laptop deal setting the price bar very low. The eMachines eME627-5279 Notebook was made especially for Walmart. It featured the AMD Athlon 64 CPU, 15.6-inch widescreen display, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 8x DVD SuperMulti drive, 5-in-1 card reader, ATI Radeon graphics HD3200, Wifi 802.11g, 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Home Premium.
Update:
Black Friday 2010 Laptop Deals
are here.

I expect that the lowest Black Friday laptop prices will be again at $200, but you will get a better laptop than last year. The Acer Aspire AS5251-1805 is the bestselling Laptop on Amazon right now for $379. Features of this budget laptop incude 15.6-inch screen, 2.2Ghz AMD V120 CPU, 250GB HDD, 3GB RAM, 8x DVD SuperMulti drive, camera, Wifi 802.11n, ATI HD 4250 graphics, 6 cell battery and Windows 7 Home Premium. It is plausible that such a laptop will be offered during Black Friday 2010 in the $200-$250 price range.

On Best Buy the bestselling notebook is the Toshiba L655D-S5050 selling for $399. Features of this budget Laptop include 15.6-inch AMD Athlon II CPU, 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD, DVD SuperMulti drive, camera, Wifi 802.11n, ATI HD 4250 graphics, 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Home Premium. Best Buy offers also a Toshiba Laptop at a lower price, but the L655D-S5050 is outselling it. The $349.99 Toshiba C655-S5049 has a bit outdated configuration with Intel Celeron CPU, 2GB RAM and 250GB HDD. This is I guess the reason customers opt for the $50 more expensive model.

Right now AMD seems to dominate the budget laptops. Intel might be still hitting back in time for Black Friday, but do not expect a Core i3 or higher in the low price segment. For a Core i3 laptop you pay right now at least $500. I do expect still tons of deals around Core i3 laptops during Black Friday 2010. Prices are likely to stay though around $500.

Apple laptops will also be again hot items Black Friday shoppers want to find a great deal for. The entry-level Apple MacBook is currently on sale for $959.98 on Amazon. The price for the MacBook is likely not to get much lower than this. What I expect though are bundle deals for the MacBook that either contain accesories or gift cards. Overall the savings on Apple laptops during Black Friday will be again very modest. If you happen to find a deal that gets you 10% off - get it!
