If you are a current or (recent) former Verizon customer, you may have some money coming your way. Verizon has sent out a press release announcing that a major billing issue has siphoned money away from roughly 15 million customers. These people, who did not have data plans, were billed for browsing they did not do.
Here's what happened. Software in their phone initiated several minor data transactions that triggered the charges. The charges were between $2 and $6. They apparently lasted "several years". Big Red claims that the data issues have been settled now, and that the same problem will not occur in the future.
