Yesterday the first HSPA+ phone went on sale. The T-Mobile G2 is available for $99.99 with new contract from Amazon. The HTC made T-Mobile G2 with Google runs on Android 2.2 and features a large 3.7" screen with a unique "z-hinge" design that opens to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. Other G2 feature highlights include a HD video camera for recording hi-definition videos, a 5MP camera with LED flash and auto-focus, Microsoft Exchange, social networking, and instant messaging.
Engadget has tested the new T-Mobile G2 and published a review. Their verdict simply is: the G2 is an awesome phone. Quote: "The G2 is not just an awesome Android phone, it's an awesome phone, period. It's clear that HTC has taken its years of experience with devices in this form factor and applied that knowledge to this device. From a hardware perspective, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more attractive, elegant, or capable landscape QWERTY phone, and as far as software is concerned, T-Mobile seems to be doing its best to offer Android in an untainted form."
Buy the new G2 on Amazon and save $100 compared to T-Mobile's offer.
