Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N550 Breaks Cover

If you have ever tried to actually use a laptop on your lap, you know that it's not the most comfortable way to use a computer. It can be very uncomfortable looking down at the screen and the heat produced can be enough to make Little John skeet, skeet. Logitech has added a new lapdesk to its lineup that should ship soon.

The new lapdesk is called the Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N550. The N550 has a pair of stereo speakers and needs a single USB cable for power and connectivity. The speakers are situated to each side of the notebook for clearer sound. In addition to adding better sound to your notebook, the thing keeps heat off your body too.

The N550 uses a 4-layer heat shield design with a soft air mesh fabric to make the lapdesk breathable. Logitech's official page for the N550 isn’t live at the time of writing so price and shipping are unknown.

Update: Logitech now says this will ship in October for $59.99.
