After Ugobe, the original maker of the cute baby dinosaur Pleo, went bankrupt Innvo Labs took over the Pleo technology and offered the original Pleo again last Holidays. For the Holidays 2010 Innvo Labs brings a new improved version of Pleo to the market dubbed Pleo rb. rb stands for Reborn.
Derek Dotson, the CEO of Innvo Labs, gave a lengthy interview on Bob the Pleo detailing the new features of Pleo rb. The new Pleo rb comes with blue or pink skin color, better battery life, more skin sensors and even a "smell" sensor based on RFID. The "smell" sensor lets the Pleo rb recognize accessories like "food" and pick it up with its mouth.
The new Pleo rb is supposed to be available in limited quantities this month in the United States. Engadget reports that Pleo rb is already on sale in Hong Kong. A lucky Pleo rb owner already posted videos of his new baby dinosaur on Youtube. Watch one below.
