Tron: Evolution To Feature Movie Voice Talent, Except...

Jeff Bridges, the man who made Tron a legend and became one of the most cult-like video game movie icons, will not have his voice heard in the only Tron video game with voice acting.

In a press release today, Disney confirmed the voice acting cast for Tron: Evolution. In it, the company highlights almost all of the main characters will be voiced by their movie counterpart, including John Glover, Olivia Wilde, and Bruce Boxleitner.

However, it failed to say anything about who will voice the character of Kevin Flynn, the most important character in the Tron universe. Played by Jeff Bridges in the infamous original Tron movie, and the new reimagined tale, it looks like he will have to live with some sort of voice double in the game.

Tron, a movie that was set in the 1980s and what could possibly be seen as the cheesiest example of early fascination with computers, has become a cult classic. For 30-something tech heads, it was an unforgettable part of their childhood. For younger audiences, it was a laughable experience seeing what the generation before them thought was "cool."

The new upcoming Tron: Legacy movie promises to blow audiences away with beyond state-of-the-art visual effects and a storyline more than 25 years in the making. But it's really Bridges' return to the classic Kevin Flynn character that really brings in most of the intrigue. It's unfortunate that he won't get the chance to be in an actual video game - ironic, since that's what the Tron series is all about.

Tron: Evolution will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, Wii, and PC on December 7th.
