Joby has some really cool flashlights in the Gorillatorch family. The latest offering in the line was unveiled today and is called the Switchback. The Switchback has the same articulating tripod that the line is famous for in a new design.
The Switchback can be used as a lantern and has a headlight strap of some sort. The lantern is water resistant with an IPX-4 rating. The light has three brightness settings including 5 lumens, 20 lumens, high with 80 lumens, and a max setting for 130 lumens. The beam distance is 23 meters with an average battery life of up to 72 hours.
Power for the light comes from a pair of AA batteries. The lamp housing is 2.6" x 1.3" x 0.8" and the battery housing is 3" x 1.8" x 1.1". When in headlamp mode and closed the Switchback measures 4.5" x 3.3" x 2.1" and open measures 6.5" x 3.3" x 2.1". The total weight is 8.8 ounces and you can buy one now for $59.95.
