The Super Bowl 2011 will be broadcasting on Fox. Broadcasting & Cable reports that sources familiar with the matter said that Fox has only two 30-second spots left. Fox is likely charging $3 million for a 30 second Super Bowl 2011 commercial. CBS had a slower start selling Super Bowl ads last year. One month ahead the Super Bowl 2010 CBS still had a couple of spots available for last minute buyers.
Let's hope we will see again some really funny and interesting Super Bowl ads at the Super Bowl XLV. Last year we saw several Super Bowl ads that made heavy use of social networking and tried to generate viral interest weeks ahead of the big game. The top rated Super Bowl 2010 Ad on the USA Today Admeter was Snickers featuring the great Betty White.
Update:
Fox Sports said that they sold out the Super Bowl XLV Ads already by the end of October. Fox has not disclosed the price for a 30-second spot, but given that they sold out months earlier than previous Super Bowl ad sales did, the prices might be even beyond $3 million. For the current list of known Super Bowl 2011 advertisers see our Super Bowl 2011 Ad list.
The Super Bowl XLV will take place in the Dallas Cowboys stadium on February 6th 2011. Just like last year, I4U News will be featuring again the Super Bowl for Geeks Guide. Of course the Super Bowl 2011 for Geeks Guide will be all about the Super Bowl Commercials and not the game.
