Motorola spilled some of their plans for the future today. The Street reports that the company is anticipating total smartphone sales (across manufacturers) of 14 million in Q4. They expect their share of that number to be over 5 million, roughly a 31% jump year-over-year.
The most exciting moment of the talk came when Motorola's Sanjay Jha alluded to the upcoming Verizon iPhone. He stated that his company will face "competitive pressure in the first quarter." He intends to "cope with that in a good way."
While a Big Red iPhone would hurt Droid sales, Jha believes that continued pushing of high-end phones, more mid-range phones and an expansion of midrange Android phone sales to AT&T will get Moto over that deadly dip.
