Viewsonic Unveils Android ViewPads

Android ViewPads get official

Viewsonic has been talking about a new Android tablet for a while now and the official unveil of the tablets was today. The ViewPads that have been unveiled include a 7-inch Android 2.2 ViewPad 7 with a 7-inch screen and a ViewPad 10 running Android 1.6 and Windows 7 in a dual boot config.

The new tablets are both 3.5G capable for mobile broadband. The ViewPad 7 has a screen resolution of 800 x 480 and has integrated Android Google Mobile Services. It has WiFi, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. It also has a 0.3MP camera, 512MB of RAM, and 32GB of storage via a microSD card slot. Battery life is up to ten hours.

The ViewPad 10 has 1GB of RAM, 16GB SSD, and that storage is expandable via a microSD card slot. The machine runs an Atom 1.6GHz processor, and has a screen resolution of 1024 x 600. Other features include a G-sensor, capacitive touch, and a 1.3MP camera. the ViewPad 10 sells for $629 and the ViewPad 7 will sell for $479. You can buy the ViewPad 10 at Sears.
