Samsung unveiled the new Continuum Galaxy S smartphone at an event in New York yesterday. Our own Mark Raby was there and he filled this hands-on report. He did not get away too impressed. Samsung and Verizon have now unveiled the full details of the Samsung Continuum. The Samsung Continuum is positioned as the world's first smartphone designed with a dedicated ticker display, which provides users with up-to-the-minute news, sports, finance and social networking updates for maximized multitasking.
Other features of the new Samsung Continuum include a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED Screen, a 2nd 1.8-inch Super AMOLD screen for the ticker app, 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, 5MP camera, Grip sensor to activate ticker, Wi-fi 802.11n, 8GB microSD card, 3G Mobile Hotspot feature, Six-axis sensor and Android 2.1. See full feature and specifications listed belwo.
It is a mystery why the Samsung Continuum still ships with Android 2.1, while the new Droid Pro will already come with Android 2.2. Both Verizon Android phones will be released on the same day: November 18.
The Samsung Continuum will be available for order starting Nov. 11 and will ship Nov. 18. The price of the Continuum is $199.99 after $100 mail-in rebate.
