My guess that Apple would be torpedoing the WindowsPhone 7 launch with the iOS 4.2 release did not materialize. Today MacStories reports that a AT&T source revealed to them that Apple will release iOS 4.2 on Friday Nov. 12 at 10 am PST.
Apple would already release the OS X 10.6.5 update tomorrow Nov. 10 along with iTunes 10.1 (10.10.0). It was clear that OS X 10.6.5 is needed for AirPrint and the new iTunes is necessary to use AirPlay with a Mac.
The release schedule sounds plausible. Let's see if it really happens. If it does iPad owners will have a fun weekend playing with the new features of the iOS 4.2. The iPad will gain over a 100 new features with iOS 4.2 according to Apple. Apple has kept iPad owners waiting a long time to get the benefits fo the iOS 4 release.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
