Black Friday is fast approaching. Since this will be the first year that tablets are in the forefront of Joe Consumer's brain, we're set to see some truly wild deals. Thanks to the explosion in large-screen smartphones and Apple's $499 "price cap", slates are priced fairly well as things stand now. The Galaxy Tab is a notable exception.

Which means that Black Friday prices will be a cut under that. That, plus the storm of hype that currently surrounds the whole form-factor, means that tablets will be one of the hot products to define this year's holiday shopping season.

Black Friday madness could get frightening at certain T.J. Maxx outlets. As we reported earlier, the retailer has acquired a limited supply of iPads (possibly from Costco) which they will sell for just $399.

You'll need to call your local store to see if they are taking part in the deal. If you don't want to risk being crushed to death by a mob of Apple fanatics and house-wives, the ViewSonic G will go on sale for the first time on Black Friday. This 10" Tegra 2 Android tablet will be on sale at Staples for a mere $399. It packs Android 2.2 and is at least as good as any of the high-end Android tablets out now.

The Galaxy Tab will also benefit from November 26. Sprint and Verizon will both offer $50 deals on the tablet at "several national retailers". RadioShack has your best Galaxy Tab deal: $349 with a 2-year contract. Also, for RadioShack, "Black Friday" starts on November 21, so you have plenty of time to take advantage of this deal.

Sprint may be offering a $350 Tab at Office Max, and Best Buy us rumored to have both a $350 (contract) deal and a $50 price cut for the Tab, sans contract. Purchases will be limited to four per customer.

Augen's 7" tablet will be on sale for $139.99 ($40 off) on the big day. Toys "R" Us will offer a cheapo Android tablet for $140.

One last note. At least one study indicates that tablets could outsell HDTVs on Black Friday. Get there early- you're going to have competition.

Remember: safety third.

Black Friday 2010 Deals are already on sale and most Black Friday Ads for the actual Black Friday, Nov. 26 are already available. You can already find the best deals of the season on TVs, Laptops, Phones, GPS, Blu-ray players and other gadgets.
