The rumors about the Black Eyed Peas playing the Super Bowl 2011 halftime show have turned out true. A source has confirmed to the Dallas Morning News already over a week ago that the Super Bowl XLV halftime will have the Black Eyed Peas. Now the NFL has officially announced that the Black Eyed Peas will perform at the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show.
The Super Bowl Halftime shows are the most watched music events each year. According to the NFL more than 153 million will watch the Super Bowl halftime show alone in the United States.
Last year the legendary rockband The Who starred in the Super Bowl halftime and not everybody was happy with that. The Black Eyed Peas will cater much more to the younger Super Bowl audience. With the track The Time (Dirty Bit), the Black Eyed Peas are currently the 6th most popular single on iTunes. There is also a new Black Eyed Peas album around the corner. The Beginning will be released on Nov. 30.
Apparently there is a chance to be a special guest of The Black Eyed Peas at the Super Bowl 2011 Halftime Show with the purchase of the new Black Eyed Peas album.
Sexy Fergie, Will.i.am, Taboo and apl.de.ap will sure rock the Super Bowl XLV stage. The Super Bowl XLV will be held in North Texas in the Dallas Cowboys stadium on February 6th 2011.
Update:
Usher and Slash rumored to join Black Eyed Peas during Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Just like last year, I4U News will be featuring again the Super Bowl for Geeks Guide. Of course the Super Bowl 2011 for Geeks Guide will be all about the Super Bowl Commercials and not the game.
