Hold off on that iPad. Put down the Galaxy Tab. Are you looking for a Christmas tablet for that Android lover in your life? You owe the eLocity A7 a look. It has a dual-core 1 GHz Tegra 2 processor, 7" display and promises to be under your Christmas tree by the start of next week if you order now.
The A7 runs Android 2.2 and is multitouch capable. It has 4 GB of internal storage and can handle up to a 32 GB microSD card. It also takes USB cards up to 64 GB in size.
The battery is good for five hours of video or 100 hours of music. Expect WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3 MP webcam and 512 MB of RAM. This thing is faster than the Galaxy Tab and can handle 1080p-out. Oh, and it costs way less. Just $369.99 will send this beauty to your door ahead of the holidays.
The on-board storage and battery life aren't wildly impressive, but this thing has a lot of horsepower and a very reasonable price. There aren't any reviews out yet, so some may see this product as a bit of a gamble, but eLocity has certainly taken its time in launching this slate. They held it back several months, which I tend to take as a good sign.
Some delays- like the 12+ months we've been waiting for the Adam, lead one to question a product's legitimacy. Two months seems more like 'polishing' than 'desperation'. We'll know for sure by next week.
