This list is my top picks for the coolest gear I reviewed this year
It's hard to believe that 2010 has only a few days left before 2011 kicks off. I am only getting used to writing 2010 on things now. Over the year, I have looked at hoards of toys, gadgets, cars, and gear and a few of the items really stick out in my mind. With the end of 2010 on us, I am going to run down some of my favorite gadgets of the year in no particular order.

One of the most recent gadgets I have spent time with was the Samsung Galaxy Tab. I really enjoyed using the Tab and for my personal use I could use the Tab just as easily as I use my iPad. The only time the smaller screen bothered me was when I wanted to play games. Most of the time the smaller screen the Tab uses and its improved portability were actually very nice. This is a great tablet that runs Android and few will be disappointed with one of these things. If I had to choose between the iPad and the Tab, it would be a hard choice to make.
At the beginning of the month as part of my holiday coverage, I reviewed a cool kit for automotive enthusiasts looking to keep their paint shiny and perfect. The kit was from Adam's Polishes and is called the Total Paint Restoration Kit. This kit comes with everything you need to remove swirls, scratches, and haze from the paint on your car and keep it shiny.
Adam's Polishes products are fantastic, easy to use, and they work so very well. I get complements all the time on how shiny and clear the paint on my car is. The thing looks so good that people can’t believe I drive the car every day rain or shine. I highly recommend this kit for DIY types, it's not much more than a single detail and you will be able to use this kit for years to come.
My favorite video game this year is the new version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. This game gets back to the run from the police roots of the franchise and is so much fun. There are tons of cars to unlock and you can play as the police or as a racer running from the police. The cars are realistic, the tracks are dead sexy, and the controls are good. This is hands down one of the best racing games ever to hit the console and any fan of the franchise or driving games will like this.
Of all the gadgets and gizmos that I have reviewed this year, the little tool called OpenIt is one of the most used in my house. I used this thing so much during Christmas that I thought it would break, but it still lives on as sharp and useful as ever. The OpenIt is a bit of a legend in my house, anything that can’t be opened with a knife or normal scissors needs "daddy's big green scissors" according to my daughter. We have yet to meet a package that the OpenIt can't open.
Of all the cars I have reviewed this year; my favorite was the Shelby GT500. This is the ultimate Mustang and one of the fastest Mustangs every made. I loved this car and hated to send the thing back. It had it all, looks, performance, and driving fun. The only thing I didn’t like was its price and the fact that I had to send it back.
The 2011 Mustang GT with the new 5.0 V8 engine and 6-speed transmission was hands down the second coolest car I reviewed this year. I loved the car and if you are in the market for a car with lots of power, style, and drivability the 2011 Mustang GT is a very hard car to beat. The new GT went on this year to win some prestigious awards in the automotive world and is widely considered the best bang for the buck in the sports car market right now.
I use my iPad all the time for all sorts of things. I use it to surf the web, to check email, to read, and to play games on. Of all my gadgets, the only thing I spend more time on is my smartphone. The iPad is the top tablet in the market for good reason. It works well, has great battery life and the machine is easy to use. The iPad will continue to be the top tablet on the market for a long time to come.
