CES 2011: Parrot Asteroid Car Stereo Powered by Android

The geeks over at Gadgetsteria (PDF) have found and posted up a press release from Parrot that shows a really cool car stereo that is powered by Android. The radio has a bunch of really cool features with things like an included GPS dongle and the ability to connect to your own 3G dongle for data access.

That access to data allows the Asteroid to provide the driver with access to Parrot Maps and details on traffic and construction alerts. The device can also connect to all sorts of media like USB stick, SD card, iPhone and iPods plus a lot more.

The Asteroid also supports Bluetooth streaming for music and for making calls. One of the coolest features is a voice search capability for music. The thing sounds a bit like Sync on Ford cars to me and is has a 3.2-inch screen. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
