The 45th Super Bowl is less than 4 weeks away and we seeing already a lot of news about the Super Bowl 2011 commercials. Like in the past years I4U News is offering comprehensive coverage of Super Bowl ads and entertainment surrounding the biggest TV event of the year in our Super Bowl Guide for Geeks. We do not care about the game itself - it is just about the often funny and entertaining ads.
Update:
The first 2011 Super Bowl Ads have been already released online. You can watch them already now ahead of the Super Bowl 2011. The list of already released Super Bowl 2011 ads include Volkswagen, HomeAway and Go Daddy.

Today two more Super Bowl advertisers made their Super Bowl ad plans official. Kim Kardashian will be selling shoes in the Skechers Super Bowl ad and Faith Hill gives Valentine's Day advice to a geek in the Teleflora Super Bowl ad.

We track all official and rumored Super Bowl commercials in our Super Bowl Ads 2011 Guide. There are still a lot of unknowns, which lets a lot of room for rumors and speculations. One hot rumor is that the Ted Williams, the homeless guy with the Golden Voice of Youtube fame, got a Super Bowl ad offer according to the NY Post. He would appear for an unnamed advertiser for 5 seconds.

BrandWeek has compiled a nice feature about the backgrounds of the 10 finalists in the Doritos and Pepsi Max Crash the Super Bowl contest. Turns out many of them has some professional background in the creative industry. The price money and exposure is so high that the ad contest is not just attracting amateurs.

Today we also reported that Groupon bought Super Bowl pre-game ad spots. Apparently they have been to late to get some of the $3m in-game Super Bowl ad slots.

The next four weeks will be filled with Super Bowl ad announcements and online campaigns.

The Super Bowl XLV will take place in the Dallas Cowboys stadium on February 6th 2011.
For a list of the current official and rumored Super Bowl ads for 2011 check out our Super Bowl Ads 2011 Guide.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
